LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
The CONTACT page. I don't know exactly why but I, myself, almost always go to the CONTACT page on a website. Perhaps it's because, subliminally at least, I do want to make contact with the
site creator. I want to investigate what my options are for doing so.
I want to know if I am being encouraged or discouraged from making said 'contact'. Sometimes it's not so much I want to contact, it's more that I want to 'connect'.... somehow. I have just spent time on the site and I want to say something back. Like shouting 'helloooooo!' as you walk through a vacant house.
So... first of all, I welcome YOU to this CONTACT page. I acknowledge your arrival, your curiosity, your desire to connect. I say hellllloooo! back to you. I recognise that we are alike in our being drawn to contact pages. It's a start. You are probably, also, someone who likes art. And maybe writing. Humour, too, you appreciate. I can just tell.
So, then. We actually have a lot in common, you and me. We like the juicy stuff in life. And what's not to like about that?
You now have the option of sending me a message. It's not a challenge. It's not a command. If you do choose to do so, you will not be obliged in any way to any thing. What will happen, though, as obvious as it may seem, is that I will get your message via my email. I will read it. And I will respond. That is when the real CONTACT will begin.
I have extended the invitation, you have the chance to accept.
Because it seems like you are initiating the contact you may feel some pressure to write something of substance, something witty or something in some way impressive.
Don't be taken by this misguided notion.
It is an artificial pressure - and completely unnecessary.
The important part is just to BEGIN to connection. It can just be 'hi'. Or even, 'h'.
Why am I encouraging you to do so? Do I actually need more connections in my life to feel good?
No. In fact, I am a rather solitary person. But I do appreciate a bit of boldness, a reaching out, a wave from across the street. We may or may not know each other already, and if we don't, well, this is our chance. I'm inviting you to take it. I will wave back. Promise.
